What is ChatGPT Plugins?
ChatGPT is a robust language model capable of producing authentic and interesting talks with people. But what if you wish to expand its capabilities with more data sources, calculations, or services? This is where plugins come in.
Plugins are technologies that enable ChatGPT to communicate with third-party apps using APIs. OpenAI just announced first support for plugins in ChatGPT. Developers who have been invited off the waitlist can utilize the documentation to create a plugin for ChatGPT, which will then display a list of enabled plugins in the language model's prompt, as well as instructions on how to use each plugin. Expedia, FiscalNote, Instacart, KAYAK, Klarna, Milo, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Speak, Wolfram, and Zapier were among the first companies to develop plugins. OpenAI has also hosted two plugins, including a web browser and a code interpreter. They have also open-sourced the code for a knowledge base retrieval plugin, which can be self-hosted by any developer who wants to add content to ChatGPT.
Plugins are at a limited alpha stage and may not yet be available to everyone.
